$10,000 358 Mod Shootout
The roar of the 358 Modifieds will return to Airborne Park Speedway on Sunday, May 29. Some of the former drivers from the previous years have committed and will be on hand to battle 50 laps for over $10,000 in purse plus bonuses. In addition, the regular Airborne Ernie’s Discount Tools Sportsman Modifieds can contend with bonus incentives for the drivers.
Headlining the 358 field are Saranac Lake drivers Patrick Dupree and George Foley, both are previous 358 Modified track champions at Airborne. In addition, some former Quebec competitors such as Pierre Berthiaume, Richard Tisseur and Mikel LaBreche will throw their hat into the ring. A number of other Modifieds are expected to attend.
Over the course of the last four seasons, the Sportsman Modified cars have begun to turn faster lap times which make them more comparable with the times of the 358 Mods. This gives the Sportsman drivers every opportunity to compete with the 358 drivers.
The top three Sportsman cars will receive bonus money, plus bonus money for the top out of state Sportsman. If a Sportsman is able to win the event, they will receive an extra $1,000!
