Airborne Park Speedway Announces End of Year Schedule
PLATTSBURGH- Airborne Park Speedway staff and management have announced amendments to the schedule for the remainder of 2016. The decision has come from the rain outs earlier in the season.
The show for August 27 will remain the same, with twin 25 lap features for the Ernie’s Discount Tools Sportsman Modifieds. The Jeffords Steel Renegades and Busch Beer Mini Mods will also be on the card. Mechanics races will cap off the night of racing. Post time for the event will be 7 p.m.
Labor Day weekend’s event on September 3 will have a bit of an adjustment. The Sportsman Mods will take part in twin 25 lap features along with twin features for the Mini Mods. Included in the racing card will be a Renegade special to be announced later on. Post time for the event will be 7 p.m.
September 10, the initial scheduled rain date, will not be used and will remain as a weekend off.
The Leon Gonyo Memorial race for the Sportsman Modifieds will take place on September 17. The Sportsman Mods will take part in the race that will be 44 laps in honor of the long time racing veteran from Chazy. In addition, twin 20 lap features for the Renegades and a regular event for the Mini Mods. Post time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
September 18 will be Championship day for all three regular racing divisions. The special on the day will be a 50 lap race for the Renegade division. Champions will be crowned in all three divisions. Post time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
