Addition to Airborne Tech Department

PLATTSBURGH – The tech department will have a slightly different look for the 2018 season at Airborne Park Speedway.

Norm Guay will return for another season as Tech Inspector and will be joined by former Tech Inspector, Allan Fewster. Rob Clark and Jason Garrand are both departing and will be focusing on both other aspects of racing and spending time with family.

“I want to thank both Rob and Jason for the knowledge they brought to the table,” Guay said. “They were a tremendous help.”

Fewster has four years of experience in the tech garage at Airborne. He started as a “fill-in” and then shortly after became a regular. A large project at his home forced him to step away, but 2018 will mark his return.

Fewster had experience working on race cars for both dirt and asphalt at Airborne and Catamount Stadium. Bobby Dragoon, Steve Dragoon and Charlie Trombley are among some of the names he has assisted. Allan also spent time working on a Mini-Mod for his son, Mark.

“I’ve always found racing exciting and I’ve missed it over the last couple years,” Fewster said. “The last time I worked at Airborne it was an asphalt track, I’m looking forward to the dirt experience.”

Airborne Park Speedway Management would like to pass along their thanks to both Clark and Garrand for their work in the tech building and time spent researching away from the track. We are looking forward to the season with Norm and Allan. There is a possibility we may find a third member to join the team, but that is unknown at this time.

The first green flag of the season is set for April 28, with the Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Stocks, Mini-Mods and Strictly Stocks all on the card. For more information leading up to opening day, visit airborneparkspeedway.com or Facebook at Airborne Park Speedway.
