Ernie’s Discount Tools Super Stocks
PLATTSBURGH – Ernie’s Discount Tools will be the title sponsor of the Super Stock division at Airborne Park Speedway for the 2018 season.
Ernie Coulombe has been a long-time supporter of Airborne and also a sponsor on a number of race cars over the past few seasons. Formerly a sponsor of the 358-Modified division, the local discount supply store will take over for the division previously known as the Renegades.
“Ernie has been a supporter of Airborne for a number of years,” Airborne Park Speedway Promoter John Walker said. “He is the type of guy you’ll see at the races every week, supporting what we do.”
Last season, the division had a trial and error process in which drivers tried to overcome the learning curve on dirt. As the year went on, the division grew to a point where twelve cars were taking the green flag. A number of outside teams have expressed interest in the division and the speedway anticipates healthy car counts throughout the season.
Brent Jarvis had the car to beat last year. His royal blue number 32 machine was dialed in early in the season and the rest of the division was playing catch up. With a year under their belt, look for the rest of the field to contend and hang with Jarvis.
