In The Nick of Time Truck Shootout Set For Friday

On Friday July 27th, at 6 p.m., The In The Nick Of Time Truck Shootout is coming to the Airborne Park Speedway, in memory of Nicholas Roberts. This event will include a street legal class all the way up to semi-tractor trailer pulls.

Nicholas Ryan Roberts was killed December 29, 2013, when he hit a culvert on a very sunny afternoon. The sun diverted the dip in the trail making his visibility poor. Had he known the sun could play a role in his safety, the tragic accident may have been preventable. Nicholas was only 21 years old.

Snowmobile deaths are alarming in New York State, and a recent article in the New York Times reports the deaths resulting from snowmobile accidents have skyrocketed in 2017 and have quadrupled since 2016.

Anyone who is at least 18 years old may operate a snowmobile in New York State without restriction or attending a safety education course. However, with the increasing number of fatalities and lack of funding, something needs happen.
If there was one thing comparable to the love Nick had for riding, it was pulling trucks. Kacey, Cody, and Dayton Roberts are asking for your help with generous donations to fund this event. Your donation could ultimately save lives, by educating not only novice snowmobilers, but offer refresher courses to the seasoned, more experienced drivers.

The simple reminders that are often forgotten with the experience drivers are needed, along with educating our youth in the North County. Any donation Big or small, cash or merchandise to raffle, a helping hand or enjoying the show it will all be appreciated.
