DIRTcar Pro Stocks Invade Airborne
PLATTSBURGH – The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series is set to invade Airborne Park Speedway this Saturday night.
Now that the month of September is here, it is now crunch time for many of these drivers. The number of series races are dwindling down and the drivers will be fighting for every single position they can get.
Quebec front runner, Jocelyn Roy currently leads the series. Through five events, Roy has one win and three top five finishes. Dan Older and Rob Yetman are second and third, respectively and are still searching for their first series win of the season.
Other drivers collecting wins this year on the series include C.D. Beauchamp, Bruno Cyr, Chuck Dumblewski and Rick Duzlak.
Last season at Airborne, Beauchamp posed in victory lane with the checkered flag. Beauchamp took advantage of a lap-27 restart and took the lead away from Yetman. Yetman would rally back and retake the with a slingshot move from high to low off turn four. Beauchamp wouldn’t go away however, as he used the inside of turns one and two to take back the lead and then drive away to a nine-car length victory.
In addition, Sportsman, Mini-Mod and Strictly Stock events will be run. Double features are slated for the Mini-Mod and Strictly Stock divisions. Ernie’s Discount Tools Super Stock’s have the weekend off.
