4th of July Celebration Washed Out at Airborne
PLATTSBURGH – Airborne Speedway officials have made the decision to cancel the racing program and fireworks scheduled for tonight (July 3) due to several weather factors.
With the significant amount of rain received in the past 24 hours, the track prep crew assessed the racing surface this morning and determined that it would be an extreme challenge to provide a safe and quality track for tonight. The anticipated weather forecast for today calls for cloudy conditions with temperatures in the 60’s and periodic showers throughout the afternoon and evening. Additionally, the infield area is completely saturated and would provide a challenge for the pyrotechnic crew needing to setup this afternoon.
Racing action will resume next Saturday for the 4-Cylinder Special, with a 7 p.m. start time. We wish all of our fans a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend!
