Renegade Showdown at Airborne: Saturday
PLATTSBURGH – The Hartson Total Opening Renegade drivers sitting in the top eight in the Riley Ford Point Standings will take center stage in the elimination style showdown presented by Hartson Total Opening.
In addition to the showdown, regular distance heats and feature events will be contested for the J&S Steel Sportsman, Taylor Rental 4-Cylinders, Chris Frennier Motorsports Limited Sportsman and Renegades. The 4-Cylinders will also make up a feature event from last weekend.
The Renegade Showdown will consist of the top eight drivers in the season-long points battle. If a driver in the top eight elects to not participate, the ninth-place driver will then have the option to enter. The eight drivers will draw for their starting spot in the showdown which will consist of eight consecutive green-white-checkered segments. The driver that finishes last in each segment will be eliminated. The lineup for the following segment will be based on the finishing order of the previous segment. The current top eight drivers include, Shawn Duquette, Zack Daniels, Josh Terry, Tylor Terry, Joe Daniels, Tyler Irwin, Jason McClatchie and Nathaniel Guay.
Racing action gets underway at 7 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 6:20. Grandstand gates will open at 5, with admission prices set at $10 for adults and free for kids ages 12 and under.
