Backpack Night/Sportsman Showdown Saturday at Airborne
PLATTSBURGH – Airborne Speedway will be full of racing action and kids giveaways on Saturday, August 21 in an event presented by Casella.
The J&S Steel Sportsman, Hartson Total Opening Renegades, Taylor Rental 4-Cylinders, and Chris Frennier Motorsports Limited Sportsman will all be in action for regular distance heat and feature races.
In addition to the regular action, the Sportsman top eight in points will compete in the elimination style Sportsman Showdown. Drivers will draw for their starting spots in the event.
The Renegade division will participate in the Lake City Fire Equipment Dash For Cash. Heat race finishing order will determine the drivers that qualify for the dash.
Kids will also have the opportunity to score a backpack during the program. Upon entering the speedway, kids will ask for a ticket to have a chance to win a backpack.
Racing actions begins at 7 p.m. with hot laps beginning at 6:20. Grandstand gates will open at 5 p.m., with admission prices set at $10 for adults and free for kids age 12 and under.
