Memorial Day Restart: Brookfield, Action Track USA, Airborne & Devil’s Bowl Approaching for STSS
FONDA, NY – Memorial Day Weekend: it’s the unofficial kickoff to summer and the restart of the 2025 Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco.
After completing six events in February and March, the series took a scheduled April pause. Starting May 25, it’s full-speed-ahead.
N.Y.’s Brookfield Speedway gets the season back in gear on Sunday, May 25 with the third annual ‘Fast Cars & Freedom’ featuring Round No. 1 of the STSS Sportsman Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region in a 25-lap, $1,500-to-win program at the revamped and resurfaced oval on the Madison County Fairgrounds.
This off-season, Brookfield Speedway has been widened by 12 feet with loads of fresh clay installed.
Joining the STSS Sportsman on the May 25 program are the 600 Modified Hustle the Highway Series (first time visit), Pro Stocks, Slingshots (Allstars & Juniors), Four Cylinders and a 50-lap Enduro.
Brookfield’s May 25 event has a rain date of May 26.
Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., has become a “must-see” event on the annual calendar for the STSS Modifieds. The third visit to the Doug Rose and Rich Tobias promoted facility is set for Tuesday, May 27 (Rain Date: June 10).
The ‘Berks County Brawl’ is set for a 50-lap, $5,000-to-win STSS Modified program, Round No. 3 of the NJ Quality Drywall South Region. Additionally, a 20-lap, $1,000-to-win fully paid B-Main will be part of the program.
600 Sprints serve as the second division.
The revived Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., launches the HYTORC of New York STSS Modified North Region on Thursday, May 29 with the second ‘Adirondack Invasion’ paying $7,000 to win for 70 laps of racing.
STSS Modifieds are joined on the program by Sportsman (30 laps, $1,200 to win) and features only for Limiteds and Mini-Stocks.
Vermont’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway – the sister track to Airborne – hosts its traditional Father’s Day slot on Sunday, June 15 with the Slate Valley 67, a 67-lap event offering $7,567 to the winner in Race No. 2 for the HYTORC of New York North Region.
Devil’s Bowl will host its fifth STSS event in history on Father’s Day.
Also on the program: Sportsman Modified “Topless 30” paying $1,500 to win, “Topless” Limited Sportsman and Mini-Stocks.
